During his career Dave Penrose has many opportunities to evaluate the various forms of water pollution and management practices on aquatic faunas. Despite his fondness for the insects in streams his work has had to morph some to also become familiar with the sources of perturbation.
During his career Dave has worked with diverse teams of water quality managers including stream restoration scientists and helped design instream habitat structures, foresters assessing loss of riparian cover, stormwater engineers to study management practices, farmers interested in soil loss, and trout fisherman to name but a few. These experiences have allowed for a more holistic approach to assessing stream health.
